Ensure your new orthotics adapt to your lifestyle problem free by gradually increasing their use.


Week #1

  • Begin using an hour on your first day and increasing each day by 1 hour

  • Use for light to moderate walking on flat surfaces

Week #2

  • Continue increasing use and if comfortable, begin using in active environments - short, easy runs, walking the dog etc

TIPS AND ADVICE

  • Listen to Your Body: If you experience persistent pain or discomfort, reduce wear time and consult with your podiatrist.

  • Footwear: Ensure that your shoes are compatible with your orthotics—well-fitted and supportive. Stick to the shoes discussed with your Podiatrist.

  • Gradual Progression: Increase use based on how your feet feel. Everyone's adaptation rate is different and it’s important not push yourself.

  • Regular Check-Ins: If you have any concerns during the wearing-in period, contact your podiatrist for guidance.
